CO2 Laser Resurfacing is a single treatment that lasts about an hour. It is minimally invasive, low risk, and we recommend both oral and topical medications for comfort. For many patients, downtime is usually minimal, and the treatment is customized to address the face, neck, and décolletage-specific issues. The CO2 laser can also treat the back of hands and arms to reduce sun damage.

The energy is applied to the skin in the form of a matrix creating microscopic columns in the skin surrounded by healthy tissue.

Because treatment can be customized, treatments can be deeper, with more healing and downtime, or shallower, with less healing time. The deeper the treatment, the better the results generally. But some patients prefer two treatments that aren’t as deep so they can avoid a lot of downtime.
Some immediate results will be noticeable, but the full results should be seen after 3-6 months.
After the skin heals, which may take up to 3-14 days, there will be a period of 4 to 6 weeks after that when the skin might be slightly pink. People with hypersensitivity to visible light and infrared. People taking photosensitive or anticoagulant medication, those who have used Accutane within the past six months. People with seizure disorders triggered by light should abstain from CO2 laser.
In addition to clients who are pregnant, those who have history of skin cancer or exhibit suspicious lesions, or those who have a history of immune disorders or healing problems should also refrain from CO2 laser treatments.
The number of CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatments needed is based on the individual’s skin and their aesthetic goals. Some may require as little as 1 treatment to achieve their desired results, for others it may take several like 3 to 6 treatments to achieve their goals.

The CO2 laser’s wavelength is 10600nm, which mainly used for gasifying the skin tissue, the principle is based on the theory selective photothermolysis.
